hi i have a clematis viticella alba luxurians 6ft tall how do i prune it said on the label to hard prune in early spring what does hard prune mean does it mean cut right down to near ground thanks

Where you cut it depends on how brave you feel. The normal advice is to cut all viticella types down in February/March to about a foot above the soil. I cut mine down to a couple of inches. It does not seem to matter.
