I don't know where in the world you live, but if you are in Europe somewhere, it could be vine weevils.
(I don't know if they are found in other parts of the world)
Even though it is December, it is very mild here and the pests are still around.

there are definitely vine weevils around, seen them last week. are the holes semi circular along the edges? this suggests v w to me too.
