My lawn/grass is overrun with moss : Grows on You

My lawn/grass is overrun with moss. I thought it looked short and green! Is it too late to do anything or should I not worry? My ground is heavy clay and dries out quickly in the Summer. I don't know what the moss will look like then!

Scarify it, i've just spent the day at it. Dress with fertiliser, wait and see how much grass returns. If new growth is sparse, top dress with soil and re-seed. don't cut your grass short.
