My Rose 'A Shropshire Lad' has just started to flower, and every bud so far has this strange disfiguration, almost like a 'hose in hose' effect. I wonder if anyone has come across this before?

Hi Karen, one of my roses did that, I thought it was odd, as it was the first rose to open on this particular plant, I left it be, and waited to see what the rest of the buds were going to be like on the same plant, they have now opened up beautifully without the strange bit in the middle. Please let us know how yours gets on.

When you have time, have a look at my new blog called 'June' you will see that rose on picture number 8.

that's very strange! but not so bad!
I think it's nice,on the first pic I thought it was the way that rose had to be!

Yes, it happened on a few of the roses ...just to the first flowers. The later flowers have all been fine. I thought it quite intriguing too Lia!
