Hi all,

This question is aimed at any one who might be able to help, especially Bluespruce if he is around :o).

What has happened to my conifer?, any help gratefully recieved.

Yes, it is dead,but why. Did you plant it at this size this year or has it been growing there for several years?
If you just planted it then it just didn't like the move or it suffered from insufficient water.

Definitely an ex tree - I don't know whether you had periods of drought as we did in London this summer, but that looks to be the most likely cause.

Thanks for your responses. I thought that, that would be the response i would get :(

I do know however, that when i peeled a little of the bar back on the main trunk, and trunk side of one of the branches it still looks reasonably green. This i was hoping could be a positive sign.

There is still some flexability, in the main branches. Could there be any hope at all with this conifer, if not i will take it down and give it to a neighbour as logs.

I'm not a conifer expert, but I do know that most of them, once in this condition, may produce some new growth, often at the top, but that the rest of the dead foliage stays on and new growth never appears on it. I'd remove it.

Today i cut of all the branches of that Dead Conifer that i told you all about and turned it in to a Bird table Photo to follow
