cheeseplant aerial roots

Is is alright to cut these off as my plant is sitting on a cabinet but the aerial roots are reaching the floor now?

These are aerial roots that enable monstera delicosa to reach sunlight in its native environment. Chop them off to restrict its ultimate height. Add pots of compost to a column and enable a taller, richer plant. I got mine to 18ft high in three years this way - bit extreme though! LOL
