This question is on tellmanniana honeysuckle

looking for advice on care & when to cut back and how far

It's usual to cut them back - give them a trim - after they've flowered. Loniceras do shoot back well after pruning. Give it a feed of general fertiliser after you have trimmed it and it should be fine. Any wayward shoots that you can't train or tie in can be cut off at any time.
