Can anyone help me to identify this plant in my garden. It is approximately 12 inches (30cm) tall with lovely pink flowers that are not in full bloom yet.

Looks like that to me too. The flowering period here is June -July. It is also known as American Cowslip. It can grow to 1 - 11/2 feet. So Pretty. Barb

Thank you both so much.I had a look at your garden photo Spritzhenry and I agree that it does look like the Dodecatheon (shooting star). I live at 4000ft in elevation so everything is substantially later here. My tulips just started blooming!

Looks like Dodecatheon maedia to me - Mine flowered recently but is now over. Have a look at my 'site' and you will find it. It's on page 10, top row.
