I just looked it up and no, it does not appear on the poisonous list. As to favourites, I don't like the double ones, but that is a personal thing. I have pink, red, pink-and-red, white, and a new one - very dark, I am waiting to see it flower. Sorry I don't know their names. I like the dark pink one best!

I have read that the sap can cause a skin irritation. I had a double white one that was lovely! Mind you, I like peonies, & this one had a flower like a peony. I also bought a dark single one (something niger), but that came out bubblegum pink.....

thanks, i just wanted to make double sure.I googled it too but was still unsure as i found a forum with someone saying a hollyhock had nearly killed her dog! Skin irritation i can deal with. But deadly poisonious plants will only stress me. Im really pleased i had thought they would be poisonious like lupins and delphiniums.

My hollhocks suffer badly from rust, do the fungus sparays work?
