I jusr let the stems die back into the bulb to build up food for next year. Give it a good thick mulch to protect it over the winter.

I leave mine to die off and then move the pot to a sheltered spot or into the g'house under the staging. Didn't try leaving it the gound, but I expect that the wet or a severe winter would rot it off. I'm on heavy clay so things get a bit waterlogged over winter.

mine stay in the ground but dont poke their noses up before May. I often think i have lost them and then they reappear.

Mine didn't poke throught till August this year....so don't worry!!
