sick or dried apple tree?

Asked on 1 Jun, 2008

I planted an apple tree last spring, it growed well and had a couple dozens blossoms and finally had two fairly sweat sizeable apples in the first year I grow it. However, this year the situation is quite different. The buds were dried out even before full blossom, and the leaves are scarce ( only at the tip of new twigs) and the leaves are like "curly fried". I did water it adequately and planted a few fruit spikes ( for nutrition) in March this year. Anyone can help me figure out what is going on? Thanks!
