I haven't personally, but someone on the site has, can't remember who, and they recommended it highly, to the point that I made a note (somewhere) of where you can get it from.

Never heard of it Cliffo but would be VERY interested if anyone else has!

It was available from Rainbow Garden Products, tel. 01932 221501 - they don't yet have a website, apparently.

What does it do, please? Does it work on snails, as well?

Thanks Bamboo.

Never heard of this before either?

I'm desperately trying to remember - it was posted as an answer to something, either on a blog or to a questoin, a couple of months back now, and I got the impression you filled it with something and it killed slugs and snails - might be worth ringing the company and finding out. I think the purpose was to prevent birds and pets getting at the slug killer, but I can't swear to it.

I done a blog on slugs and snail but had to wipe it, cut a lemon or orange in half scoop out the centres, place radomly around the garden you will then find the slugs under neath them to dispose of, or horse hair wrap around the plants and pin to ground they will not cross it as it will burn them do not place stones on top they will cross on the stones, or washing powder encirle your plant with it. Or cut a piece of a pop bottle, encircle your plant with it because the top is sharpe they will not cross it, or surround your plant with two pieces either side of bitchamin they don't like the smell will also burn them.

Just google 'slug bell.com' various sites come up.
Cliffo ,would the inventor doing a blog be akin to advertising ? Just a thought :)

I though of that but the blog is to enlighton us for the future, he is wating to go on dragons den for finance, he is also wating for the first 500 to be made for him. but if he runs into truble he has my phone number, any developements I will let you know, pm you with the details

Oh good for him, hope it goes well.
Spritz you put slug pellets on a mesh shelf inside it,it looks like a lampshade !!
You can water plants as it keeps dry and birds can't get them.

Good point, Aster, but let's not forget that advertising originally just meant "publishing information" with a view to people purchasing if they thought it might be useful (whatever it was) - now its come to mean pushing products at us non stop whether we want them or not, but you gotta get the info out there somehow, so it rather depends on what this guy says, and how he says it, in his blog!

Just phoned Rainbow Garden Products - they do have a website, if anyone's interested, type in www.slugbell.com and select Rainbow - shows the product. Cliffo, who is the chap you've been talking to - seems they're already on the market?

6 Nov, 2009

infact he told me that he had the eurapean patent, but he is yet in a small way, I rang the number you gave us

6 Nov, 2009

Oh right, same guy then. I emailed a question as to whether it works for snails or not - doesn't say in the info, only mentions slugs.

Itryed the site you said Bamboo got knowere only to some coments on a site called gardeners click and our comments on hear, the rest was baseball music some nonsence about chalk
