I live in ga. when would be a good time to move a crepe myrtle to another spot (warner robins, ga)

As my geography is absolutely appalling, can you enlighten me as to what ga means? I know that this plant is hardy in Zone 6, don't know which one you're in. If its your fall now, this might be a good time to move it, as long as its not too mature or large. You don't say which one you've got, and I know they vary from smaller shrubs to medium sized trees.

Depends how long its been in its current position and how big it is? This plant will be tender in Zone 8.
