is it for creating drills to sow the seed in. I cant see how it would go between rows of plants already groing. It looks quite old so perhaps some of our more mature gardeners know what it is actually for.

It looks like a type of 'RO-HO Gardener' from the 1930's? its use was to break soil and chop down weeds. Sadly if it is the front bit is missing.

I am thinking it's a ditching tool for clearing weeds in a dry ditch.
