Two weeks ago I took on an allotment where there are two variety of rapsbs. Tall canes with supports still fruiting which the neighbours call autumn and a few 18" - 24" sticks which may not have done very well coz they were at the back of east/west rows. I thouight autumn raspbs didn't need support? which are which? Can anyone help?

Hi Horrol and welcome to GoY yes autumn fruiting raspberries need to be supported. The summer fruiting rasps. should have had all their last years canes removed leaving the canes that grew this year but these should be talker than 2 foot by now, I cut our back to about 5 foot.
