I have may night salvia planted in a flowerbed and it grows beautifully, but I would like to know if I should remove the spent spikes after the flowers drop off? There are more flowers coming up from underneath.

Yes, dead head the spent flowers and it will carry on flowering for ages! Don't wait until they drop off - cut them off as they fade.
