something i heard recently is to put unwrapped juicy fruit gum in the holes, they do not like the smell.

A remedy I have tried that works: pour small amounts of creosote down as many mole holes as you can find. They hunt by smell, and this makes them move somewhere else.

I tried the mole bait from www.mole-be-gone.com It was inexpensive compared to everything else I looked at, non-toxic and my moles were gone within a couple weeks.
