Trillium bulbs or plants.

What is best to buy?

I was looking on crocus plants.

My experience of Trilliums is that the bulbs (or are they corms?) took a couple of years to flower - some still haven't. Next time I'd buy plants.

Thank you Barbara .

I will stick to buying he plants.

As I had bought seeds last yr for a garden visit of trilliums .

And they still have not germinated.Maybe I will get a surprise some day.

Hope this finds you well.

The seeds need to be sown very very fresh to have any chance of germinating.
Plants are better than corms, as at least then you know they are alive which a lot of dried ones are not.

My experience is similar to Spritz. The corms I have [12 of 4 different species]have stayed alive but only 4 have flowered and it is 3 yrs on since I bought them. They were fresh corms but i went for that option as they were relativey cheap. 3 for £12 as opposed to a plant at £15. Flowering plants are often expensive. I am hoping they will be happier this year.
