Unfinished Patio - should it be covered

I have just had a patio laid - however the grouting and finishing is still to be done. Will it be damaged if it rains hard before this is done? and should it be covered to avoid the base becoming wet Many thanks Lorraine
The grouting has not been done yet just the slabs laid so I think I should get builders to cover then as rainwater will go in the gaps where the grout should be - thanks

I don't know when you plan to finish the patio, but all I can say that it's extremely important to cover it or fill in the gaps before the ice comes along! If rain water gets in and then freezes, then it will expand and probably shatter the slabs!

I think the grouting would be damaged, yes, if the rain were to be heavy. I would cover it until a dry day comes along, if I were you.
