why are my leaves turning yellow on (Portugese Laurel) Prunus lusitanica

I planted two standard 80cm balls 4 weeks ago, I have watered well, but the leaves are turning yellow. Any Ideas??

Are the plants in pots? And do the pots have good drainage, without standing in trays or something to catch the excess water? If the leaves are soggyish and yellow, this sounds like overwatering, but that's quite difficult to do if the pots have good drainage.
