Allium bulb planting
Having seen them growing in the gardens I have visited I have bought my first Pink Allium bulbs. Any tips on planting when where etc would be helpful.
I also want to get some more - tall ones, any favorites you would recommend:?

Allium aflatuense and christophii can often be found in the "pound" shops in September - about 3/4 bulbs for a £1, and they grow well - I've bought loads over the years!

They like rich but free drained soil. Put some grit in the bottom of the planting hole to aid drainage or else they tend to rot over winter.
Sunny site, somewhere a bit sheltered as wind can bend them.
Allium Purple Sensation
Allium Globemaster- huge flowers
