If you have bought a box of Blood Fish and Bone then it will be in the form of a fine powder. Sprinkle a handful of the powder around the roots of your plants. You can gently dig it in to the top surface of the soil if you want to. Then as you water your plants each time it will filter down to the roots.

I wouldn't use it straight into pots if you bought them separately - fish blood and bone sold in boxes is 50% sand, and if you don't have that in there, it may very well burn the roots in pots - alright in the ground though.

Not sure what you're putting in pots, or what you've already got in pots? Remember that multi purpose and John Innes compost already has feed mixed in, enough to last for six weeks, and feeding plants extra this time of year is not a good idea, unless they're summer annuals. Next year you can start feeding either with a "water on" one like Miracle Gro general purpose, or, for big pots, stir in some Growmore into the top of the compost.
