Trees for Life is a charity started about 20 years ago to restore the Caledonian Forests in Scotland. Over 100's of years the ancient forest has been destroyed by felling and burning, more latterly by grazing of red deer, until there are few remnants left.
Trees for Life is the inspiration of Alan Watson and they initialy started by growing Pinus sylvestris (Scots Pine) from native collected seed and planting them in an area of Glen Affric. Over the 20 years they have done tremendous work both in Affric and in other areas of Scotland.
