never heard of this bulb BUT as far as moles go [and they go pretty far!] nothing seems to work but the 'mole catcher'.Do they still have them nowadays I wonder? My neighbours cat did catch a large one, and Jack Russel dogs are good for this kind of thing, but buying a pet is maybe a bit drastic if you don't want one.moles don't always stay long however, we had one that stayed around for about a month and then tunneled off somewhere.Meanwhile though they are very destructive in the lawn and borders, so good luck with yours.

We have tried every remedy suggested from Bulbs to Sonic things and not one of them has worked. Sadly the only way is to trap it. You will be pleased to know there is only one, they are solitary creatures (except at mating time). Humane traps are not, the animal will only survive above ground for a short time and if you release it where there are mole runs, the resident mole would kill it. Scissors traps are best, but not easy to position properly.

I have a friend who had some success with a sonic repellant so perhaps they do work sometimes.

Have you tried dropping Mothballs down the tunnel ?

Sorry Snoopdog, but the moles in our garden have been here for the last 17 years. And I have managed to kill over a dozen in that time and still they come.
What you may find happening is that the visible runs and hills are just shallow ones made when the thing is feeding. Its home tunnels are much deeper. It may go and feed elsewhere which is why they seem to disappear for a while.

I agree that none of the popular remedies work. I think it is a case of living with them or taking the rather drastic action of killing them. About 18-24 months ago I became really fed up with wobbly paving slabs and mole hills in the lawn so I bought a trap. Then I found I didn't have the stomach to kill something that was here before I was! I decided to 'live and let live'. Strangely enough, since then it seems to have disappeared and I haven't seen any evidence of activity at all this year.

A friend of mine bought a lot of children's coloured windmills on sticks and stuck them in the mole-runs (the theory being that the vibrations of the turning windmills would - humanely - deter the moles...) As far as I know there was no deterrent effect on the moles, but she had a lot of fun watching the windmills...

Live and let live, I guess (though I do get slightly cross when the stones they turn up in their molehills foul my ancient mower!... He gets cross, too...)

I had a shock when a Queen Wasp made her nest in a Mole tunnel on my allotment.
Council Pest Controllers had to be called, cost the Committee £40. I dont know what they used.
Then I learned that if they had poured Creosote down the Mole tunnel the Wasps would have been killed.
Moles andWasps both disappeared anyway.

The creosote wouldn't have done your cabbages much good though...

Nor you, it is highly carcinogenic.
