My neighbour has given me some passion flower cuttings that have been rooted in water. They are still in water on my kitchen windowsill, but I think I should pot them up. Is this the right time of year to do this and will I have to keep them warm during winter?

Thank you for that. I have always wanted a passion flower in my garden but have never been successful. Hopefully one or more of the cuttings will take.

Seaburngirl says what I was thinking - keep the cutting in a frost free place. I took Passionflower cuttings last year and managed to over winter them (window in spare room). They rooted fine by March and I planted them next to a south facing wall.

Thank you for the answers. Just one more thing. Should I pot them in any particular compost, or will garden soil do. The soil in the garden has plenty of compost mixed in as it is quite acidic generally.

by all means pot them on but I would keep them in a frost free place if you can. porch/unheated conservatory/cool spare bedroom are all ideal. the cuttings will drop their leaves and this is normal. keep them barely damp to prevent them rotting off.
