Are my red onions ready to be picked?

My onions look almost ready to me but is there a way to tell?

Bend the tops over and let them start to die off a bit first .

I have grown the red onions and they have died down more than the picture you are showing. I have folded their dying tops towards the middle of the double row so they look tidy and am leaving them to see if they continue to grow bigger with just their roots which are firmly still below ground. A few had seed pods at the top and I just cut them off.Don;t know if I have done right though. ( All an experiment though )
