Can anyone tell me what this flower is?

Cumbria, United Kingdom Gb

This flower suddenly popped up in the corner of the garden last month, with the prettiest little delicate leaves, then kept on growing and produced little purple balls which were the flower buds, these have just (july 09) flowered and I'm trying to identify it if anyone could help

it looks a thalictrum, a type of meadow rue. as for the species i'd need to have a look at the leaves too.
pretty non the less.

Only thing I can think of is Anemonopsis, but I can't see any of the leaves in your photo, nor the inside of the flowers - this plant usually forms a basal clump and the flowers rise up above, and have darker insides.

Seaburngirl might be right - have a look at Thalictrum diffusiflorum - but we really need to see the leaves.
