Brug controversy
Asked by Barrierisland on 9 May, 2008
I have always wanted to get into Brugs, now have the perfect site - enclosed garden where the fragrance would be heavenly. Am facing neighborhood anarchy! Apparently Angel Trumpet has a reputation (urban legend?) as an hallucinogenic. The fear is I would be attracting homeless addicts to the neighborhood..... not a single plant in this area.... Where is this legend coming from?

Im growing them this year ( well Im hoping to ,in the Scottish weather ) there is quite a bit online about them but I dont think you should have any probs with drug addicts , it is well documented though that they are poisonous, Philp is right so take care handling them .Let me know how you get on with them .

Brug are poisonous if you injest them, If you injest a small amount it would give a high to much it will kill you, some people get an allergic reaction from handling them, so if you have sensative skin wear gloves, also don't rub your eyes after handling them. I have never known of drug addicts tracking these plants down. I say go for it i love the scent. All the best Philip.
