Why doesn't my hydrangea flower

It flowered the first and second year but not this year. It is in a large pot and is east facing

Your hydrangea will be getting big now? they need lots and lots of water and I suspect its roots will be filling the pot big time! It could probably do with a feed as well.

did you prune it this year? if yes you may have cut the stems which bear the flowers off. I remove/reduce a 1/3 of the stems every year so it never [rarely] gets a full prune.
