Advice on heuchera please

West Sussex, United Kingdom Gb

Hello Everyone, this is my first post--very tentative, as I'm still not sure what to do--I bought 3 heuchera plants from a stallholder who told me to plant them in the shade because they would lose their colour in the sun, yet on the labels it advises planting them in the sun.
They are 'Marmalade', 'Green Spice' and 'Tiramisu'.
Is there anyone who grows these successfully please and in what position? Thanks, Penny.

Hello Pennyfarthing :)

I have 8 different Heuchera, some are planted in sun and some in shade and they all do equally well.
I have the very dark purple ones in full sun positions and they don't fade, i have Marmalade in full sun and that one doesn't fade either.
The one that does though is Key Lime Pie and ..... it only fades if it's starved of water, i've neglected one of my KLPies and that's what happened.
I have green Spice in full sun, i don't have Tiramisu but i would place them where you want them and if they show signs of unhappiness move them.

Pennyfarthing - I am growing 'Tiramisu' but it is showing signs of scorch on the leaves - I think part shade might be better for this one

I bought Tiramisu from the Gardeners world show the other week.

Where it is planted it gets sun with dappled shade throughout the day.

Thank you all very much for these replies. I shall plant them in partial shade with tiramisu in the shadiest spot.
