I bought a hibiscus in memory of my husband 7 years ago and whereas it has made a lot of growth, has lots of buds and is doing well I am saddened to note that a lot of the flowers drop off before becoming fully open. Is this a common trait? I do feed him (erratically!) but is there anything specific you could recommend please?

As the plant is growing well it can,t be the soil, but hibiscus only flower well in long hot summers, so Iwould say that it,s the lack of "summer" this year that has caused the problem, Derek.
