I hve two well established Viburnham Mariesi plants. Suddenly one has died completely and then significant branches on the other plant are now showing brown and this is increasing by the day. I also have a 20 foot Silver birch tree which has also died suddenly. not sure if these are related-but does anyone one have any ideas re the Viburnham especially.

Obviously these could be totally unrelated conditions between the Silver Birch and Viburnum but read recently about spread of Honey fungus affecting these and other trees and shrubs .So may be connected ?

If you check out RHS web site under pests and diseases may be able to draw further conclusions.
