Greenfly on my Chiili peppers, how can I control them?

How can I get rid of and control greenfly on my chilli's without actually killing the plant or compromising the harvest? I was told to use a weak soap solution, so I tried this on my nasturtiums and it killed the greeenfly AND the nasturtiums! HELP PLEASE!!????

I find that the best way if they are potted is to lie them down and squirt a jet of water from the hose, this removes a large number, after which use a picture painting brush, with some plants i dip it in methylated spirits.. but best test this on the peppers as I only do it on succulents.
