Unhappy Blueberries

I bought several diffent types of blueberry 2 years old, i thought they might grow well in scotland as they look similiar to our wild bilberries (I havnt a clue what im doing but im keen!) I got the acid soil and put them out in pots, they looked great. I wanted to give them a plant food but dont want to use any chemicals so i bought some organic seaweed and used that, round about the same time i noticed tiny green bugs all over the new shoots so i gave them a spray with the fish oil stuff. Would you believe it ALL THE LEAVES AND FLOWERS FELL OFF! I was upset. They seem to be coming back to life this spring, any tips greatly appreciated.

strawberry vandal.

im a brand new gardener in my first garden. I spent all afternoon planting strawberries in big pots and in the ground it took longer than i thought it would but i was pleased with myself. The next day i could not believe my eyes. something pulled up every single one of my strawberry plants and tossed them all around the garden, they were everywhere. What on earth would do this? First i thought it was someone having a sick joke! I tried to plant them again but they were damaged and i would just keep finding them tossed on the grass again. Out of about 50 strawberry plants 2 survived. This year i want to catch or outwitt this criminal. Please share your expertise this gardening lark is so much harder than i expected!

Managing Pampas Grass

I gave Paul his Pampas Grass four years ago and as you can see it has reached a respectable size. It is a Cortaderia pumila so will not become a giant, but I am fearful that it may grow to such a size that it will be an awesome job to uproot and split it. Does anyone have experience and/or advice in managing this plant in its fully grown state? Should I be preparing Paul (and myself) for the concept of the task of lifting and dividing it? Or can it be contained just by raking and combing annually? Any advice most gratefully received! :-D

What is this plant?

This is a plant I received as a cutting. It grows quickly and is therefore easily propagated. It tolerates S or W light and is reasonably self-sufficient, however, I have no idea what it is! Can anyone help me to identify it, or even the family/genus it might belong to? Many thanks.

Vine Weevils

Emptied some of my pots and found some of the grubs (which the robin appreciated!!) - has anyone tried the stuff you water into your pots to kill the blighters (being polite you may notice) and would they go into the veggie beds and could I water the stuff on edible food? Any help much appreciated.

unknown plant with illness

This pant was doing alright indoors and grew to about 5ft tall. It then developed a white mould, particularly on the stalks. Last month I pruned it right down and changed the compost and washed the root system and repotted it. It has sprouted new leaves but the mould still persists. What is the name of the plant and what should I do about the mould?

EAST FACING FENCE

Hi Just thinking, has anyone any suggestions for an east facing fence. I did have a passion flower on part of it, but I think that has given up the ghost. There is a climbing rose, but never done too well. The soil is very, very poor, so I might have to use tubs or containers of some sort. The north facing fence has Japonica and clematis. Much appreciated, chaps
