My garden seems to be full of ants. Last year they attacked my cherry blossom tree, stripping the bark, so I had to cut the tree down. Now they are all over my Rhododendron which is in a large pot.
Help please !
Janet.

Can I plant a few home grown sweet peas I have left over up our apple tree. The tree has only been in the garden for 1 year and is about 6'6" tall. Would it encourage beneficial insects or will it ust harm the young tree? It was labeled as Golden Delicious but we're not sure it is because the 2 apples we had last year were darker, redder and not particularly sweet. I have a photo in my album if you want to see the apples from last year. Thanks.

What should I be feeding our 2 year old bushes. They're about 2' high with lots of foliage in a sunny spot by the deck. All we've given is water, but would some feed help them to start fruiting? We don't really know anything about them or how to tend them. Any help would be great. Thanks.

We were sent a plant to our office by a supplier at Christmas last year. It was originally in a novelty keyring, but we took it out and potted it and it is growing at an inbelievable rate. The supplier does not know what it is and we are dying to know! It is actually a hanging plant, we have just held it upright in the picture. Can you help.

So does anyone have a safe solution to getting rid of ants in my garden? THey are only on one side of it. I looked at my cantalope and a stem is chewed off and all the leaves are eating through. My lettuce is on that side and the same thing, leaves chewed through. Then I saw them the black/reddish ants. Anyone have any advice?

Leaves smell lemony/citrusy and the stems have thorns. I thought it was a rose, but it hasn't bloomed. It was mowed down by deer last fall, but most have returned this spring.
