About me

We moved to Stretford in 2007, and with it came a garden which needed lots of love. Two years on and its now a riot of colour but I am having to learn how to cope with huge lime trees which grow in the church yard at the bottom of our garden. This creates shade and a very thirsty garden, but with trial and error I'm finding out what copes in these conditions. My favourite part of my garden is the woodland garden under these trees. I have planted heleobores and hostas which are thriving, despite the slugs and snails. My yearly treat is going to Tatton show and I always come away laden down with plants and great ideas. I am trying to grow veg, but the conditions make this hard, but I was proud of my runner beans last year. I have been successful with my pots of spring bulbs this year, they have been a wonderful display of colour and scent which have brightened my days.
