Chris Beardshaw is brilliant! - and far too wise to tie himself to the BBC! I think the problem is all about the 'dumming down' syndrome that affects us in every walk of life. Carol's enthusiasm can be a little irritating but she, along with Chris, certainly knows her stuff!

Very similar to my Mollie!

I had fish in the original pond and every one was taken by the heron, so this time it is devoted to frogs and toads!

Hi Skillen,

They are indeed - more like ponies really!

Hi Janette,

This miscanthus grows to about 1.5metres. It's a great grass - one of my favourites

You are too kind!! Seriously, it's a difficult patch and I have learned over the years not to intervene with nature too much there, so I just leave it to get on with it.

The plants do it all by themselves!

The molinia doesn't show up too well in the photo ( bit of a novice with photography) but, trust me, it's a stunner! - Do you grow any grasses?

are there any rural dwellers out there?!!

As you can see, this part of Lincolnshire is very flat and exposed

Can anybody tell me what it is?

It's one of two borders which run parallel to each other. I should think they are each about 8ft deep and about 20ft long

There's that wonderful plant again. I grow persicaria Painter's Palette which is hardy - but not as nice as this plant!

How do your like my lawnmower - nice isn't it?

Wonderful! Just my sort of garden.

I love dahlias and have just made a dahlia bed this year which has been wonderful.

Peonies. My mother would bring the parent plant down from Scotland when she moved to Lincolnshire in 1952!

No fish - the heron does not tolerate such things

Wonderful sedums - what would we ( and the insects) do without them. Have you had a lot of butterflies this year?

On photo - Untitled

They are asiatic lillies - so no scent sadly. But they are very early to flower
and don't seem to suffer from the dreaded lily beetly
