He is one impressive BEEstie lol. Good photo, hope you had a long lens. :o))). He looks as if he is making a hole to get at the nectar at the top of the flower!!!

Hi all! When I took this, I wondered why he was slow to move on...

Then when I looked at this pic, I realised that he couldn't leave until he'd removed his proboscis from the hole he'd made in the flower!!

Just going out now to see whether he causes any real damage...

I've got two, Sue and had a look at both. This one is in shade in the morning...the other one is in full sun, is smaller and has an assortment of red, white and bicoloured flowers! Strangely, the 'bee'stie doesn't like the other one so much!

Ok; so mine is in full sun, tho I have moved it back a bit to make room...so that may be the reason...I'll think about a shadier place, when I find one.... lol
