Sticki - I have seen these growing on the top of a mountain pass in the wild where they are covered with snow in the winter. They are hardy over here provided you can keep the wet off; I put a sheet of glass on two bricks over them

im very tempted to have a go at those then ~ they are like little pearls ~ just lovely. ought to be ok in my dry shade?? im quite certain they would look stunning on the mountain pass ~ do you have a blog about that too??

Mountain pass = open grass land = bright sunshine, so I'm not sure they would be terribly happy in dry shade.
I'm growing them in my alpine bed which is in a very sunny part of the garden. Visited the mountain pass back in the days of pre my digital camera I'm afraid (perhaps I'll have to write a book instead)

a book ~ that would be really good.
i think i had better be content with looking at your lovely plants ~ they wont like my woodland shade. on the other hand i could wait till your book is out and look at the photos in there!
