What a Difference the Light Makes (Iris germanica (Orris))

One of my Iris crosses. A Tall Bearded Iris at different times of the day. I am calling it Rose 'N Purple.

Is the top right the true colour? Its amazing isn't it - when you go round the garden, because you know what colour things are, you possibly often don't note the difference the light makes. The bottom right is gorgeous.

I see the bottom left pic as the most representative of the colour I perceive to be its true colour. Also the standards have become paler as the flower aged. I think using Goy, ie taking photos and looking at others' has made me more aware of what perhaps we take for granted.

Its beautiful in all light conditions Sue, but isnt evening sunshine magical?

It was such a hot sunny day here yesterday. The wooden evening seat was too hot to sit on at 6pm without cushions.
