You've got a real beauty there ! It's pretty now, but just wait till it grows up, it only gets better with age !

Love this one, I have 2 of them, they grow quite fast!

I think my one's getting eaten, it's got nibbled edges on the leaves.

Irene mine is a little frayed around the edges this year!

I'm not sure if it's very happy really. It's at the back of a border and I don't think it's looking too clever near the bottom, maybe it should be getting more light there. I must remember to look properly when the border's not so full.

Mine is middle border, it hasnt been robust and has beeen in 3yrs now, a bit disappointing as it doesnt seem to get much bigger, but give it another season before I think of moving it on.

I saw one on a programme years ago hosted by Geoff Hamilton. This woman kept cutting it back to get the new foliage and hers was lovely and bushy. I'm still waiting for "bushy"!

Well that is possibly the answer Irene, cut back, the only prob is that it seems a shame to cut off the only bit of nice foilage you've got? lol but might have look again at mine tomorrow and make a decision!

I've got a big clump of euphorbia fireglow in front of it that needs serious thinning. When I get that done, I'll check out the lower part of the acer. Getting rid of some of the euphorbia will give me more planting space too! I wont be looking at it tomorrow - it's meant to be raining here - again!
