these where here when we moved in, i looked them up in my dutch book and i think they are T. acuminata 'Balalaika' - bit of a mouth full!

thanks - but i had no idea what colour they would be when i put them in - pure luck really. they really are a stunning tulip - not a bad find amonst all the weeds and rubble!

they are arnt they , i just love them, and mine have been going now for about 3-4 weeks.

suddenly appeared in the front garden! proberly one of the many bulbs dug up and put in last summer.
single late group tulip bearing glowing bright red/orange flowers with yellow basal marks inside and black anthers. late spring flowering 22inchs High.
8 x into west border front garden Oct 07.
These come up every year, came with the garden so don't know the variety. Have to be careful not to cut it with the lawn mower.

Beautiful, cannot grow them successfully in Brisbane, Australia, too humid.
