Possibly, but there are different types of Stachys according to my book, and mine was not labelled but it is obviously one of the big type.

This was just a tiny bit I brought from the last garden, but it really seems to like the soil here or something!

Members' notes...

Chrispook

Six plants put in in August 2007 in various beds. Will hopefully provide groundcover and the pale leaves will complement other plants. In photo stachys below Carragena tree.

Lambs' ears is a well-known , popular for its soft, fluffy foliage. Once established, plants are reasonably drought-tolerant, making this a good choice for a dry sunny border or gravel garden.

Plant Type:ground-covering perennial

Hardiness: Hardy

Skill Level: Beginner

Position:
Soil type: Well-drained/light, Dry, Sandy
Exposure: Full sun / partial shade

Flowers: June to September
not very conspicuous, being hidden among the felt

Height: 45cm
Spread: 60cm

Evergreen:
The leaves are often retained quite late into autumn or winter in mild areas, but the plant is not properly evergreen, and the foliage falls eventually to be replaced by a fresh crop in spring.

Time to divide plants: March to April
To propagate, divide as soon as growth begins in spring.

Looks good with:
Achillea 'Appleblossom'
Verbascum 'Gainsborough'
