This was one of my wants. Finally bought one unfortunately it wasn't one of the 100yr old types that cost several £100's. Bought 07.
We have four olive trees growing in pots. They like a sheltered spot away from frost and cold winds, with full sun and occasional water. They are given slow release fertiliser during the growing season and lightly clipped to keep a good shape.
Bought March 2008 - tiny!!

This was a present, no olives yet, apparently it takes many years for them to fruit and then they can be erratic, but the light foliage is quite attractive..
