I've got this, too - it's all over the place in my garden. I finally realised last year that I had to cut off the seed heads before they seeded themselves once again! It does provide some colour in the winter months, so I've left some plants.

This is a native plant and it seeds itself freely, so it can be a nuisance. However, it provides some brightness over the winter months.

I had this plant but it became a menace so I pulled it all out, or so I thought. I noticed a small shoot the other day near the pond, didn't have the heart to pull it out.
