Members' notes...
Bought a clump of this grass from ebay spring 2007 has spread nicely, i have planted one clump in the corner of the right hand bed at the back by the patio to give a bit of winter interest once the acer and other perennials die back for winter.
Japanese Rush is listed as a rhizomatous marginal aquatic semi evergreen perennial, although it can be grown in damp soil, so this possiton should be perfect for it. and in my experience it has been fully evergreen although the last two years we have'nt had very cold winters.
