Is this a specimen gained from your travels, Andrew? very interesting shape. What leaf shape belongs to it? Or is it a plant which puts up flowers before foliage?

No Lori, I've not seen this in the wild. It grows in Europe, Turkey and Africa on hill sides. It grows from a rhizome with long, thin leaves
