Canna.'Indian shot'
Superb foliage but not frost hardy. Requires indoor protection during winter. Lovely bright orange flowers in Summer.
Cannas add an exotic touch to a garden and are happy in pots. They require regular watering and feeding during the growth period.
Cannas come in an increasingly large number of colour and foliage combinations. They are one of our favourite plants.

Its a Canna. We over-winter our Cannas indoors and place them in the garden when all danger of frosts have subsided.
The leaf patterns are fabulous and the flowers are spectacular. They prefer a sunny spot, and are ideal for an exotic border.

What is the plant with purple leaves bottom left?
16 Mar, 2008
Its our Sambucus nigra (Elder) when it was a young plant. The photo was taken just after we had completed the garden after we remodelled the entire plot in 2005.The same plant is now nearly 8 feet tall!
Middle front is Fatsia japonica now 7 feet tall, and to the right is the Gunnera. All these plants have been moved to different locations since this photo was taken. Its amazing to look back on photos that have been taken over the course of several years and see how the plants have matured, and how the garden has changed as well.
What else?
This photo is of "Canna 'Ibis'" in Grenville's garden
