Rose , don,t know the name ... Garden colour inspiration

All my roses are still tight buds! This is beautiful - does it have a lovely smell too?

I,m going to wait untill it,s dry before I trample on the bed to find out Gee LOL ..
I take rose cuttings from other peoples Roses so often I don,t know the names .. !

Can cuttings be taken any time of the year, Amy?

I take them in September Gee , take a piece about as thick as Pencil a nice new this years growth ...... starting at the bottom of your chosen piece cut straight across under a leaf joint , count 4 leaves up and then cut diagnally , you can tell the top from the bottom then ! take the bottom two sets of leaves off and any thorns , they usually break off sideways with scissors , leave the top two sets of leaves , the whole peice will be something like 8" long , put rooting powder on the bottom , have your nice little trench ready if possible with some sharp sand at the bottom , the bottom leaf should be level with the soil , you should be able to see a little bud forming at the base of the leaf , form it in making sure it is very firm and again in the winter if the frost loosens it .. Have a go .. good luck .. :o)

Goodness, Amy, I must have had beginners luck with my cutting. I did none of those things! Someone must have been smiling at me and thinking 'What an optimist, I'd better give her a hand' :) I'll do it properly next time, thanks for the info.

LoL ... I was going by the book the first time Gee , I have to admit that I cut corners now .. If yours ' took ' keep doing it that way .. :o)
