You've made a great job of this Jac - looks really natural. I love the frog too! I hope you get lots of real frogs - they're great at zapping slugs.

Yes, but real frogs eat slugs - which is pretty gross, but great news for gardeners!

You might be surprised by the allure of a pond and the sound of water will bring many creatures to investigate... I agree with Buzzbee and Sid...frogs are great. Last summer I had a female toad singing her siren song in my pond all night long tweeeeeet twweeeeeett....I thought I'd be cracking up by the time she finally moved on...but not so...after awhile I didn't even hear her...slept like a baby...maybe it was a lullaby for the strings of eggs she left wrapped around the waterlilie's stems...The fish thought it was a bonanza...i didn't have to feed them they just gobbled down the toad eggs. Kinda sad. all those poor little embrionic toads... but that's nature. I should touch wood, but, between the frogs, toads and birds in my garden I have not had slug problems...

I agree with Bussbee and Lori - I have a very old pond, which I can only get to with difficulty coz v. overgrow. But it is full of frogs croaking in the summer and I have my hostas nearby and they never get damaged by slugs
